Grey Gardens Rosé is a judicious blend of the three main red Bordeaux varietal grapes that Long Island is so famous for. Made in the traditional, European, time-honored method, the result is a true rosé.
The grapes are harvested earlier than for a red wine, to take advantage of the increased acidity. The red skins are "bled" in fermentation tanks for just a short while to obtain the beautiful pink rose color that connoisseurs across the world look for. The wine is then racked quickly away from the skins to complete fermentation.
