Intense cherry red in color with aromas of ripe redand black fruits finished with hints of oak. On the palate, this wine is refreshing on entry, with a firm acidity. The slow ripening of the grapes in this vintage allows you to enjoy the wine’s ripe tannings and rich, deep palate structure.
Mas de Subira is an outstanding red that deftly captures the unique terroir of Priorat, one of Spain’s most prestigious appellations whose llicorella slate soils and dramatic terraced vineyards produce concentrated, complex and celebrated wines. Our winery, Viticultors del Priorat, located in Bellmunt del Priorat, is surrounded by just over 170 acres, with 47 acres of vineyards in current production. The vines are planted on select slopes and plateaus at altitudes between 500 and 700 feet, and range in age from 25-40 years old. The typical yield is under 1.25 tons per acre, low even for Priorat standards, but the intensity and concentration in the grapes are profound.
10% Cabernet Sauvignon
|With the wine’s bright acidity and rich red fruit flavors it pairs well with oven roasted mussels, braised meats and rich cheeses.
