Wine Advocate 87 points - A blend of 40% Clairette, 30% Bourboulenc, 20% Grenache Blanc and 10% Ugni Blanc, the 2012 Chateau Pegau Cotes du Rhone Blanc Cuvee Lone is a lively, fresh and citrus-laced effort that gives up medium-bodied richness and a clean finish. A perfect mid-week drinker, it should be consumed over the coming couple or years. Drink now. (Oct 2013)
The name Lone is the name for an offshoot from a main river. For our Chateau Pegau, this is parallel to the Rhone River but it flows much slower.
|Domaine du Pegau is an estate bottler of Chateauneuf-du-Pape, owned by Paul Feraud and his daughter Laurence. Recognized as one of the top estates in Chateauneuf, its wines are considered among the world’s greatest. Though supply is far outweighed by demand, prices remain reasonable for those able to seek out and purchase these wines.
