Wine Spectator 90 points - Pure cherry, currant and earth notes mingle in this medium-bodied red. Lively, ending with firm tannins and fine length. Needs some time to come together. Best from 2016 through 2025. 150 cases imported. -BS

Vinous 89 points - Bright, deep red. Spicy red fruit aromas lifted by smoky minerality and flowers. Rich, fleshy and tactile but with a calcaire firmness to the ripe flavors of maraschino cherry, marzipan and licorice. Silky in texture for a wine from this vineyard but without any easy sweetness. In fact, this is distinctly backward and a bit dry on the end, with serious tannins calling for patience.

Wine Advocate 88 points - The 2011 Beaune 1er Cru Teurons, like the Greves, feels a little muffled upon first opening, although it gains more delineation with aeration. The palate is better with lifted, slightly tinny raspberry and strawberry fruit. There is a pleasing weight in the mouth with a pleasant acidic bite on the finish, although it does not achieve much in the way of complexity for such a propitious Beaune premier cru. Drink 2014-2019. (Oct 2013)
