Founded in 1970 by Dick and Nancy Ponzi, Ponzi Vineyards has set the standard for viticultural innovation and winemaking excellence in Oregon. From the start, the family has practiced sustainable agriculture and its four estate vineyards – Abetina, Madrona, Aurora and Avellana are LIVE Certified Sustainable. In 1988, Robert Parker named Dick Ponzi as one of the finest winemakers in the world; only three other Americans have been so recognized. In 1994 Dick’s daughter Luisa took over primary winemaking responsibilities. Luisa apprenticed with Christophe Roumier of Domaine Roumier in Burgundy, France as well as with Luca Currado of Vietti in Piedmont, Italy. “There is a reputation behind our label that I want people to know they can count on.” ~ Winemaker Luisa Ponzi
