Wine Advocate 91 points - The 2010 Pinot Noir Avellana originates in a uniquely northwesterly-exposed Ponzi vineyard. Basil, mint, and buddleia alluringly garland plum and cherry, whose skins and pits - along with a sustained, mouthwateringly saline savor - render this performance ultra-invigorating. The tannins are already supple to the point of disappearance. Hints of iodine, stone, and moss add intrigue to the sustained finish of a Pinot well worth planning on following over at least the next 6-8 years. Interestingly, these young vines needed to be among the first harvested of the vintage. (Aug 2012)

|This intriguing nose showcases spices from black pepper to cayenne to cumin with hints of cedar and anise highlighting dark fruit of plum and cherry. The mouth is lush with a fruit sweet middle of cola and ripe blackberry, finishing with a deep and beautiful length of velvety tannins.
