This full-bodied red offers notes of balsamic, red fruit and violets. Supple and firm tannins are balanced and the finish is lifted by layers of acidity.
This historic estate dates back to 1716 and was bought in 1818 by Dona Antonia Adelaide Ferreira. The current owners, Joao Ferreria Alvares Ribeiro, Francisco Ferreira and Francisco Olazabal are the sixth generation to continue their family’s rich winemaking traditions. Of the 64 acres planted to vine, 40% are at least 80 years old and all wines in the Quinta do Vallado’s portfolio are made using estate fruit.
