Buy Louis Jadot Chevalier Montrachet Les Demoiselles Domaine des Heritiers
The old vines of this tiny grand cru vineyard produce a wine of rich white fruit density underscored by an airy, acidic elegance which highlights the pronounced notes of minerals, grilled nuts and spice on the layered palate; the finish is one of lasting intensity and finesse.
Wine Advocate 94 points - Toasted hazelnut, white truffle, fresh lemon, and high-toned almond extract rise from the glass of Jadots 2007 Chevalier-Montrachet Les Demoiselles. Citrus zest, chalk dust, and fresh citrus serve for vibratory intensity on a silken palate, and this practically barrels into finish whose breadth high-volume is a bit at odds with many of the best 2007 vintage Chevaliers and their soaring elegance. This is more formidable than fun to drink today, but is already clearly a great wine in the making, which I would plan to follow for at least the better part of a decade.  (Dec 2009)

Wine Spectator 94 points - An angular, unformed young white, showing saturated flavors of lime, peach, apricot and stone, with a firmly structured profile. Needs time for all these elements, plus the oak, to harmonize. The finish shows fine potential. Best from 2013 through 2026. 20 cases imported. –BS (Feb 28 2010)

Wine maker notes
The vineyard of Chevalier-Montrachet is situated immediately above the portion of Le Montrachet lying in Puligny, and directly borders Chassagne. It covers 18 acres producing an extremely limited yield of 23,000 bottles of wine in an average year, or slightly over half the legal yield per hectare. Within this grand cru climat is the "Les Demoiselles" vineyard, a 2.56 acre parcel which was purchased in 1794 by the first members of Louis Henry Denis Jadot's family to arrive in Beaune from Belgium.

It remained among the Jadot properties until 1887, when, due to a deed of division, it passed out of the family's hands. Several years afterward it was reacquired through a joint-purchase effort initiated by Louis Jadot and Louis Latour. Still today, the two Domaines remain equal owners of Les Demoiselles.

From its 1.29 acres of vines in Les Demoiselles, Maison Louis Jadot produces limited quantities of this exquisite grand cru, which in many vintages equals or surpasses Le Montrachet in concentration and complexity. Its limpid, golden color and penetrating fragrance of toast and honey predict the rich, mellow fruit flavors, velvety elegance and intense finish of this wine of exceptional grace and breed.
