Brilliant with a golden yellow color. Intense, fragrant, delicate aroma of muscat grape with a very elegant bouquet reminiscent of orange-blossom, peach and honey. Pleasantly sweet, aromatic, round, and a creamy sensation on the palate. It offers an excellent balance between the natural grape sugar and the acidity. Perfect for an extensive range of desserts, fresh fruit and also by itself, also by itself, well chilled.

Producer
It is rare in the Italian wine world to discover a winemaker that combines the many elements necessary to produce great wines at attractive prices and in sufficient quantity to avoid strict allocation. Carlo Volpi is a winemaker who controls the best vineyards in his appellation area, state of the art vinification equipment, extensive aging cellars, and efficient bottling plant to qualify for that rare category of producer. On top of all that, Carlo Volpi is a true gentleman who can be relied upon to perform at his optimum best when it comes to supplying wine. Bruno Volpi now joins Carlo as Managing Director of the estate.

Cantine Volpi dominates its appellation area in the Tortona Hills located in Central Piemonte north of the famous province of Asti. The Tortona area is at the center of hills that includes the appellations of Colli Tortonese, Gavi and Oltrepo Pavese. The soil is composed of fossil rich marl and sandstone, along with calcareous layers. From below, the hills dominate the plain with their steep slopes guarded by medieval castles. The vineyards occupy the steep slopes that traditionally enjoy the best microclimate. The dominant grape varieties in the Tortona area are the Cortese grape that is used for Gavi and the Barbera grape that is used to produce "Barbera". The Cantine Volpi estate now extends over about 55 acres of vineyards, mostly planted with Cortese and Barbera grapes.

Cantine Volpi is a family business that traces its roots to the end of the 19th Century. Since that time, the Volpi family has consolidated its image as the most reliable quality producer from Tortona. The headquarters is located in Viguzzolo, just outside of Tortona. The consulting enologist is one of Italy’s most renowned: Giuliano Noe. Truly, Giuliano Noe is one of the most notable enologists in the appropriate use of wood aging to arrive at the so called "new style" of wine that features rounded, structured wines with soft tannins. The use of "barriques" is essential to this "new style". The Cantine Volpi aging cellars are located outside of Tortona and contain a wide variety of stainless steel tanks, Slavonian oak barrels, and the 225 liter "barriques".
