Robert Parker Rating:89 Points
The 2003 Costers, is a blend of 50% old vine Carignan and younger vine Merlot, Syrah, and Grenache. Its deep ruby/purple color is accompanied by earthy, leathery notes, moderate tannin, and considerable structure and precision. More artisinal in style than its two siblings (no doubt due to the old vine Carignan), this impressively endowed 2003 should drink well for a decade.
|Robert Parker Review:
This small artisanal winery in Priorat produces less than 1,000 cases. The basic cuvee, the 2003 Priorat, is a blend of 60% Grenache, 20% Carignan, and 20% Merlot aged six months in new and used French oak. It exhibits sweet raspberry and currant aromas along with notions of wet rocks. Medium-bodied, elegant, precise, and stylish, it should be enjoyed over the next 4-5 years. -RP
