A true California wine family, the Pisoni legacy began back in 1979 when Eddie and Jane Pisoni purchased the land that is now Pisoni vineyards. Their son Gary and his children, Mark and Jeff, have carried on, farming the famed vineyards in the Santa Lucia Highlands and venturing into winemaking. Lucia launched in 2000 as an outlet for small bottlings that represent the region. This wine comes from Garys' Vineyard, a partnership between Gary Pisoni and Gary Franscioni, planted to pinot noir and syrah in 1997. The bouquet is richly seductive and floral and indicative of the powerful wine in the glass. Still a bit tightly wound, this wine has excellent balanced tannins and acidity, which will allow to age beautifully for many years.

Robert Parker Review:
Even better is the 2006 Pinot Noir Garys- Vineyard. Superb aromas of truffles, underbrush, spring flowers, black cherries, and black currants emerge from this deep, full-bodied, exuberant but gorgeously balanced and pure effort. Drink this full-bodied, compelling Pinot over the next 5-6 years.
Unlike the Russian River and Carneros, the Santa Lucia Highlands enjoyed a very good year in 2006, as evidenced by Lucia's well-made, complex offerings. -RP |

| The Garys’ Vineyard is a joint venture between two native growers of the Santa Lucia Highlands. Gary Pisoni and Gary Franscioni planted this 50-acre vineyard to Pinot Noir and Syrah in 1997. Its location on a sloping hillside in the center of the 16-mile long appellation gives the vineyard a true representation of the Santa Lucia Highlands
Lucia is one of several wineries that makes a Pinot Noir under the Garys’ Vineyard designation.
