A blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Verdelho and Chardonnay, the fruit was sourced exclusively from the family's vineyards in Padthaway, grown in soils of red loam with underlying limestone and deep sand over limestone. The Sauvignon Blanc lends quintessential lively aromas of zesty citrus, grass and herbs, while the Verdelho adds elements of tropical fruit and texture. The Chardonnay rounds out the blend, adding weight and smoothness to the palate.
Pillar Box White has a very pale green straw appearance. Comprised of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Verdelho, each variety contributes its own uniqueness to this blend, whilst careful blending of a portion of cool climate Adelaide Hills fruit adds an additional layer of complexity. The result is an enticing wine which displays lifted aromas of orange blossom, hints of gooseberry and celery. The palate is a continuation of the fruit flavors introduced by the aroma. These herbaceous and fresh topical fruit flavors are balanced with crisp acidity and enhanced by the soft texture and a lingering finish.
