The village of San Vicente de la Sonsierra is nestled in the heart of the famous Rioja region, where the Ebro river and the Sierra Cantabria mountains go hand in hand and contribute to the harmony of the fruit of the land.
San Vicente always offers wines of great quality by exclusively selecting the Tempranillo Peludo grape variety. Harvest is always carried out by hand, selecting only the best fruit from our single vineyard called La Canoca: a decision that gives quality the highest priority and makes our wines a model of wine production.

Wine Spectator Review:
This engaging red marries bright aromas and flavors of cherry, smoke and spice with firm tannins and a pleasant, slightly bitter finish that keeps it refreshing. Drink now through 2008. 1,000 cases imported. –TM
Robert Parker Review:
This single-vineyard estate-bottled Rioja has been a consistent winner in recent vintages. Not surprisingly, in such a great year as 2001, it performed fabulously well. Aged 20 months in primarily French oak, and bottled unfiltered, it is Spain’s version of a top-flight Pomerol. It boasts a deep ruby/purple color as well as an expressive bouquet of crushed red and black fruits, cedar, spice box, licorice, and smoked herbs. With great fruit, an opulent, full-bodied palate, tremendous purity as well as length, and abundant fruit and glycerin nearly concealing the moderate tannin, it should drink well for 8-10 years. -RP
