Deep rich garnet color, this wine prepares you for the abundance of aromas of warm strawberries & sweet spices. The initial flavours on the palate resonate with concentrated fruit flavours such as plums & blackberries, unfold to reveal hints of licorice, cinnamon, cloves & leather.
Wine Spectator 89 points - The 2007 Venta Mazzaron spent 8 months in French oak. Deep crimson in color, its nose exhibits Asian spices, espresso, damp earth, and blackberry. On the palate it is a bit more structured than the Las Brisas with 1-2 years of aging potential. It has plenty of spicy black fruits, good balance, and a medium long finish. Drink this very good value through 2017.
(100% tempranillo) Inky purple. Sexy, high-pitched aromas of black raspberry, licorice, flowers and Moroccan spices. Juicy and mineral-driven, featuring a fine-grained texture and very good intensity to the red fruit and floral flavors. There's an element of finesse here that's rare to find in a wine at double the price. Leaves sweet fruit and spice notes behind a long, sappy finish.
