The nose once appreciated undoubtedly reveals that this wine is Gewurztraminer. The nose shows lychee and fresh rose petals. The palate offers lean acidity yielding laser tuned flavors of melon and candied lemon peel balanced by a mouth watering finish.
In 1978, the Entenmann Family agreed to sell their family company & move to greener pastures. One of Martha Clara’s sons, Robert Entenmann, purchased a potato farm and transformed it into a thoroughbred horse farm on the North Fork of Long Island. Throughout the years he enjoyed his horses and the beauty of the area. However, he couldn’t help but notice the changing landscape around him. The neighboring potato farms began to give way to vineyards; it was just a matter of time before he would follow suit.
The North Fork of Long Island American Viticultural Area region is located in Suffolk County and is governed under the State of New York. Martha Clara Vineyards, found within this region, is one of Long Island’s finest vineyards, where the science of winemaking itself is of utmost importance.
