Wine Enthusiast 92 points - Medium-deep red. Flamboyantly sweet nose offers plum, mocha, nutty oak and a woodsy element. Broad, smooth and quite full, with a much more refined texture and a stronger primary fruit component than the basic bottling. The sweet plum and currant fruit flavors are complemented but not overwhelmed by oak notes of coffee and mocha. This generous Brunello really spreads out on the palate and fills the mouth, without coming across as heavy. A very satisfying drink, but I doubt I would have recognized it as 100% sangiovese.
