A-Mano is a stunning example of a concentrated, elegant, rich, deep, dark purple wine. The raspberries jump out of the glass to herald the aromas to follow, blueberry, tar, leather, anise and cedar. The complexity evolves and the soft, velvety tannins linger on the long, long finish. This is a wine that reveals a new treasure with each sip.

Wine Adovcate: The 2006 Primitivo is a beautiful, expansive wine loaded with super-ripe jammy fruit and sweet toasted oak flavors. This generous, racy red offers superb length and is a ridiculous value for the money. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2009 .
Score: 88. —Antonio Galloni, May 2008. |
Wine maker notes
Made from 100% Primitivo (Zinfandel's ancestor) from Puglia. A. Mano (meaning "made by hand") is made from 70-100 year-old, hand-cultivated, low-yielding vines.
Food pairing
This is a fruit-packed, food-friendly, modern wine, an excellent value and a great alternative to American Zinfandel. It pairs exceedingly well with a variety of dishes – grilled meats, rich pastas, spicy foods and barbecue.
