The Sonoma County Chardonnay showcases fruit from all over the county but, year after year, the Robert Young Vineyard in Alexander Valley makes a significant contribution to the final blend. For the 2008 Chardonnay, grapes were also sourced from Carneros, Russian River Valley, Dry Creek Valley, Sonoma Coast and Sonoma Valley. These are dynamic growing regions that offer a new set of variables with each vintage. With Chateau St. Jean’s Sonoma County wines, we look to make the most of these variables, seeking the best expression of Chardonnay from a particular vintage.
| Tasting notes |
| Pleasing aromas of pear, mango and clove along witha hint of vanilla mingle on the nose of this classic Sonoma County Chardonnay. The well-balanced acidity wraps around a luscious core of pineapple, lemon and melon flavors and creates a creamy palate. The wine has a refreshing finish. |
| Wine maker notes |
| Classic winemaking techniques including barrel fermentation and five months of sur lie aging in small French and American oak barrels impart richness and complexity to the wine. The majority of the blend underwent malolactic fermentation.
