On the nose there is a strong maple scent, like smelling pancakes in the morning. At first sip we tasted a sweet, maple syrup taste, with a nice oak flavor with hints of vanilla and caramel. Jim Beam Maple is just the right amount of sweet maple flavor without being too thick. You can really taste the whiskey in this one which is good as the maple flavor doesn?t overpower it. The finish is moderate with maple, oak, and vanilla flavors with a touch of spice and cinnamon. The after taste is what brought our rating down with this one, it seemed to linger a little longer than I prefer and had a somewhat stale taste to it. Overall this is a good maple whiskey that would probably be enjoyed best in a cocktail.
