The wine possess a complexity of aromas that suggest spicys and red berries, with some toasted notes as a result of a short period in oak, that in combination with a good structure of tannins allows it the presentation of a very rounded and balanced wine in the mouth.

Other text
’Ciconia’ is the Latin name for the white stork that has, as it main habitat in Portugal, the forests and woods of Alentejo. Most of the storks migrate during autumn to Africa, and return to Alentejo in December to make their nests. In June, the storks fly for the first time, flights that will normally last 33 years. They procreate with the same partner during their lifetime.

Producer
The Herdade was acquired by Alexandre Relvas in 1997. It is situated in the municipality of Redondo, enclosing 175hectares of total area, of which 35 are planted wine in loam soil, derived from schist. 97 of its hectares contain cork trees, planted between 1998 and 1999. In the rest of the territory, we dedicate ourselves to the breeding and conservation of local species in extinction such as the ’Mirandela’ donkey and the ’Garrano’ horses of Geres, that in the old times were great agriculture tools and now are in extinction due to the take over of automation in agriculture.
