Chateau Fonplegade Saint-Emilion 2010  750ml
Robert Parker Review:
Concentrated black fruits intermixed with spring flowers, some high class, subtle toasty oak, graphite and a touch of blackberry and cassis all jump from the glass of this dense, full-bodied, formidably endowed, massive wine. It needs a good 5-7 years of cellaring. This could turn out to be one of the longest-lived wines ever made at Fonplegade, lasting 25-30 or ... click for more details

Chateau Gloria St. Julien 2009  750ml
Gloria has long been one of the most popular wines in America, but I do not believe they have ever made better wines than they have over the last decade, and the 2009 is one of their finest. While this estate is not a classified growth, it certainly performs like one in 2009. A dense ruby/purple color is accompanied by an expressive, flamboyant bouquet of black fruits, Christmas spices, licorice ... click for more details

Chateau Monbousquet St. Emilion Grand Cru 2000  750ml
Although still youthful, I do not think the 2000 Monbousquet will develop much more complexity. It is a seductive, rich, generously endowed effort revealing plenty of spice box, herb, black currant, kirsch, espresso, and toasty oak characteristics in a decidedly modern, but opulent, fleshy style. Enjoy this endearing, long, velvety-textured St.-Emilion over the next decade.... click for more details

Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte Pessac Leognan 2008  750ml
Robert Parker Review:
One of the stars of the vintage, this elegant, smoky wine has hints of barbecue pit intermixed with sweet black currants and cherries. Dark purple and medium to full-bodied, its impressive finesse and wonderful purity make for a surprisingly forward style of Smith-Haut-Lafitte to drink over the next 15 or so years.

Chateau Duhart-Milon Pauillac 2010  750ml
Robert Parker Review:
Dense purple, with classic notes of cedar and lead pencil shavings as well as gobs of back currants and licorice, the wine has a full-bodied mouthfeel with fabulous precision and density. It also possesses a long, silky finish with moderately high tannins, but they are ripe and well-integrated. The wood is clearly pushed to the background in this dense, full-bodied  click for more details

Chateau Gloria 2010  750ml
Robert Parker Review:
The 2010 Gloria is an ass-kicking, fabulous value once again from this estate, which would probably be classified if the 1855 hierarchy of the wines of the Medoc were ever done again. Abundant notes of cedar wood, fruitcake, flowers, creme de cassis and kirsch are all present in this full-bodied, opulent, dense, dark ruby/purple wine. It is slightly more ... click for more details

Chateau Guiraud Sauternes 2009  750ml
Tasted as part of a vertical held at the chateau. The 2009 Guiraud has a complex, precocious bouquet with honeysuckle and jasmine notes, hints of dried honey and white peach. It is tightly wound but very precise. The palate is pure and tense in the mouth - great precision here once again with superbly integrated oak and a lovely, seductive, very viscous botrytis-laden finish. In many ways the ... click for more details

Chateau Poujeaux Moulis En Medoc 2009  750ml
Robert Parker 93 Points
"The Cuvelier family that has done so much to resurrect Clos Fourtet purchased this estate that had long been the pride and joy of the Theil family. A large vineyard, and certainly the finest wine of the somewhat forgotten appellation of Moulis, the yields in 2009 were 40 hectoliters per hectare, and the wine is a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, ... click for more details

Chateau Corbin Saint Emilion Grand Cru 2010  750ml
James Suckling Rating: 93 Points
"Nose starts with fresh brewed coffee, cedar and chocolate toffee. With a bit of air it shows ripe plum, sweet licorice and fresh leather. Wonderful dark round fruit on the palate with velvety caressing tannins. Full with a long finish with lots of dark fruit."Lush, concentrated black currant and kirsch-like fruit, a hint of licorice and some floral ... click for more details

Chateau Cantemerle Haut-Medoc 2010  750ml
Robert Parker Review:
The wine needs a good 7-10 years of cellaring and should keep for 30 more years, but this is the finest Cantemerle I have encountered in my professional career of tasting young vintages (dating back 34 years now). Stunningly deep ruby/purple, with a beautiful nose of spring flowers intermixed with perfumed raspberry and blueberry notes, it exhibits a sort of cool-... click for more details

Chateau Rabaud-Promis Sauternes 2001  500ml
"Brilliant yellow-gold color. Very strong aromas of tropical fruit and honey. Full-bodied, with apricot and botrytis spice character that takes off like afterburners. Fantastic. Best after 2010."The Rabaud-Promis has a lovely bouquet with hints of dried honey, nutmeg and creme brulee blossoming in the glass. The palate is well balanced with a viscous opening: a surfeit of botrytis here that ... click for more details

Chateau Leoville Poyferre Saint Julien 2010  750ml
The wines of Château Léoville Poyferré are first distinguished by their considerable aromatic complexity ranging from red fruits, such as cherry, to mushroom for older vintages.

Thanks to its terroir, Léoville Poyferré displays a magnificent balance between alcohol, acidity and tannins. The wine develops a sumptuous velvet quality in addition to plenty of elegance and finesse, altogether ... click for more details

Chateau Gloria St. Julien 2008  750ml
Robert Parker Review:
A stunning sleeper of the vintage, this beautiful, already irresistible, plum/garnet-colored 2008 is a wine to purchase by the case. It possesses a dense plum/purple color, a glorious perfume of Christmas fruitcake, cedarwood, black currants, jammy cherries and licorice, medium to full body and a silky personality. It will provide both a hedonistic and ... click for more details

Chateau Petrus Pomerol 1947  750ml
Bordeaux's most intensely concentrated, richly flavored and unique red wine. An incredible power, depth and richness yet a remarkable balance with penetrating aromas of ripe mulberry, black currant and fruit and spicy vanilla oak, setting it apart from all Bordeaux's finest wines.

During the 19th century, the domaine belonged to the Arnaud family. At the beginning of the 20th century, the ... click for more details

Bellevue Mondotte Saint-Emilion 2005  750ml
The crushed blackberry and raspberry are wonderful in this wine. Full-bodied, with superpolished tannins and loads of ripe fruit, toasty oak and coffee on the palate. Goes on and on. An opulent young red. Best after 2016. 420 cases made.-JS

Chateau Batailley Pauillac 2011  750ml
An attractive nose of creme de cassis, earth and oak jumps from the glass of this dense ruby/purple-colored wine. A classic, impressive effort from the Casteja family, this 2011 transcends the vintage character, and is an unqualified success as well as a major sleeper of the vintage. Structured, rich, medium to full-bodied, pure and layered, it should be at its finest in 3-4 years, and keep for ... click for more details

Chateau Belgrave Haut-Medoc 2010  750ml
I tasted the 2010 Belgrave several times and found it less impressive than I had hoped it would be, since I wrote it was a sleeper of the vintage from barrel. Nevertheless, the wine is still excellent. Dark ruby purple, slightly austere and closed, but exhibiting some tobacco leaf, black currant, vanillin, spice and earth, it should drink nicely for 15 or more years.... click for more details
